We are literally counting down the hours until we leave the country now and everyones pretty excited to have a last heat chamber session and to get out of the cold of Dunedin. The finalising on 2nd semester papers, what school work we have to do overseas and figuring out how little we can actually take to China is on everyones mind.
With a mixture of the crew flying and driving to Chch this afternoons heat chamber will be the time we see each other till we get to the airport.
For the past 2 weeks we have had a training camp in Dunedin in which, thanks to the crappy weather, has mainly been 2 weeks of ergs, with the last week having extra sessions in the PE school environmental chamber with the temperature at 41 degrees and the humidity sitting around 70%. Getting to the real deal hopefully will be so much easier!
Over in China we will be racing in 3 regattas. In Chengdu and Wuhan we will be aiming to back up our 2013 wins over 2km and 1km respectively and the new regatta is in Linfen which is inland of Beijing and Shanghai. This year we are also spending a day shopping in Beijing and 2 days touristing in Shanghai before coming home to a backlog of school work.
